Lighting

Rope Lighting
- In the crown modling along the creases of the vaulted ceiling, I put in rope light. Make sure you plan out your plugs and switches when doing something like this. There are wireless solutions for switching, but they are sometimes cumbersome. There are no wireless solutions for plugs. These lights are nice to chill and listen to music at the end of the day. By far one of the best features of the room so far.

Sconces
- I had the builder put sconces on the 4 columns. It provides plenty of light for the room, eventually, I want to put these lights on dimmers.

Can Lights / Main Light
- 4 Can lights. These lights provide the same amount of light as the sconces. At some point, these lights will go on dimmers. There is also a light in the middle of the ceiling. This light can be switched out for a ceiling fan (which in Texas is maditory for summer nights).

Views

Side View Home Theater
-It was up in the air whether to put in windows or not. I opted to keep the windows (Furture buyers may want to use this room for other purposes) and to get shades. Light blocking cell shades are the way to go, when I buy them, I'll write more regarding shade choices.

Front View Home Theater
- Door is solid wood to insulated for noise.
- All speaker cables are wired to the front of the room. In retrospect this maybe a mistake, but I'm looking for a nice entertainment center to correct this error.

Side View Home Theater
- I put up columns with sconces for ascetics. Sonically, they may interfere with a perfect sound. I wasn't too worried about it ( again future buyer may have ....).

Picture of Justin in his cinema last day of construction, 4 days before closing. Room measures 26 X 24 and is 12 feet tall with vaulted ceilings. It took me about 2 weeks to plan what I wanted for my home theater. In fact, until I moved in I wasn't really sure. I'll take you through my process so you can plan your room accordingly.

Objective

Had some pitfalls putting together a home cinema. I'll take you through my process from construction to final product. It will probably be a work in progress for a while, considering costs and my desire to have a real life.
